Rifflandia Festival Announces Venue Shift for 2024

Today, the folks at Rifflandia Festival announced a shake-up for in their venue operations going forward. The much-anticipated event will now take place at the Matullia Lands at Rock Bay, from September 13th - 15th, 2024, incidentally the same location the festival dubbed "Electric Avenue" for one of its festival onsite locations in 2022 and 2023.
The festival will now adopt an all-ages, one-site, one-weekend model, marking a pivotal shift in the festival’s growth.
John Rice, Operations Manager at Matullia Holdings, expressed enthusiasm for the multi-year agreement with Rifflandia Entertainment Co. He stated, “The lands at Rock Bay have served as an important gathering point for generations, and we look forward to continuing and building on this powerful cultural legacy.”
Since its return in 2022, Rifflandia has delivered an elevated festival experience, hosting world-renowned musical icons such as Lorde, Charli XCX, and Iggy Pop. This year, festival-goers can expect a continuation of this trend, with top-level production and site amenities built around another diverse, high-caliber lineup of talent (stay tuned for this year's announcement).

As Rifflandia reflects on its long-standing residency at Royal Athletic Park, it acknowledges the significance of the relationship it has established with the City of Victoria. Embracing the incredible memories and legacy forged, the whole festival team is excited for its new home in Rock Bay.
Established in 2008, Rifflandia Festival is one of the longest-running large-scale music & arts festivals in Western Canada. It's a festival with community at its core - with local creative artisans, the tastiest West Coast cuisine and craft beverages, and a city-wide discount redemption program aimed at encouraging festival goers to explore the what the locals have to offer.
Matullia Holdings, a collaborative venture between the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, was established in 2011 with the intent to secure an option to acquire property at Rock Bay. In 2018, they successfully exercised this option.

Event Dates: The festival is scheduled to take place from September 13 to 15, 2024.
