Edmontons Music Magazine
Decimate MetalFest 2026 INTERVIEW
CRIES OF BLOOD

1. What does playing Decimate Metalfest mean to you as a band?
Ans: It means everything to us, as (long story short), the band is originally from Colombia
but moved to Montreal back in 2019. It will be our first show outside of Quebec ever, so we
are really excited to come to Western Canada to play some blackened death metal.
2. What part of your sound or performance do you think the Millet crowd will enjoy
most?
Ans: Pretty much our orchestral arrangements, which blend perfectly with the blackened
death metal ritual we put on the stage, are quite an experience for the listeners. Intensity,
beauty, and extreme metal, the perfect mix.
3. How do you get ready for a festival show compared to a regular venue show?
Ans: We always get ready the same way; it does not matter if it is a big festival or a private
show (the only thing we could say that changes is the prompts utilized on stage; sometimes
you can not use fire or pyrotechnics in a bar or small venue, right lol). But musically wise,
the standard of our performance always aims for the professionalism that is required for a
metal act.
4. What do you like about performing in smaller Alberta towns like Millet?
Ans: As we said before, it will be our first show in that part of Canada, so everything will be
very new for us. Can’t wait to meet new people over there, share experiences, and share
metal music.
5. Do you have any memorable or funny festival stories from past shows?
Ans: HELL WE DO, in 2023, we played in a major festival headlined by Deicide, Kataklysm,
Incantation, and much more. We were in the middle of our "Ominous Perception Tour," and
of course, this festival was part of the dates of that tour. The thing is, we had a road trip of
almost 18 hours to get to the festival, and we barely slept in the van during the trip. Then,
we arrived at the fest, sound checked, and had to be on the stage by 6 pm (we did the
sound check at 4 pm lol). The show went very well, the crowd went crazy, and we pretty
much had a blast. However, it’s just funny how fast our adrenaline peak went down after
our set was over. Just remember, some of the band members were sleeping backstage
during Kataklysm and Decide sets, crazy souvenirs.
6. What can fans expect from your set this year, anything new or different?
Ans: We released our album early this year, so people in Millet will have the chance to listen
to our fresh material, it’s just out of the oven.
7. Which other bands at Decimate are you excited to see or play alongside, and why?
Ans: We would say all the bands from the roster are pretty dope; we’re just glad to share
the stage with such great bands, great people. Although, for sure, worth noting the
presence of The Convalescence, SquidHammer, Riot City, and Let it Rot; really looking
forward to seeing these acts. They’ve been on the road for a while, major acts who keep the
flame of metal music alive.
