1. What does playing Decimate Metalfest mean to you as a band?

It means a lot to us because we’ve always been strong supporters of the alternative

music scene. It’s always given us so much; we grew up there, became inspired

there, and found ourselves there. It’s an honour to get to be part of it now and give

back, and help keep a safe, inclusive and creative space going for the younger kids

out there, so that they can do the same!

2. What part of your sound or performance do you think the Millet crowd will

enjoy most?

I think we might stick out from the crowd a bit in terms of our sound, energy and

general brand. We are all about positive, silly fun, and we don’t take ourselves too

seriously, so we are hopeful the crowd is open and welcomes a change of energy!

So while we might not be very heavy, what’s more metal than being your true self?

Plus...who doesn’t love some light choreography?

3. How do you get ready for a festival show compared to a regular venue show?

No one has ever accused us of packing light... but for a whole FEST... it’s going to

be next level.

4. What do you like about performing in smaller Alberta towns like Millet?

We are ALL small-town Alberta kids ourselves! And we know how rare and hard it is

to get cool bands, sick shows and alternative scene/music and culture representation

in these types of towns...so again it’s pretty cool to be able to offer that in places and

to people that may not otherwise often feel that sense of community and belonging.

5. Do you have any memorable or funny festival stories from past shows?

This is actually one of our first festivals! So you’ll have to ask us again next year

cause we intend on making some memories...and we generally excel at stupid and

embarrassing, so I’m confident we’ll have some tales to tell.

6. What can fans expect from your set this year, anything new or different?

We do have a ton of new songs we will be performing from our upcoming EP, which

we hope to release very soon...so stay tuned!

But rest assured, we will bring the same Femmes Voyous vibe we hope you’ll all

learn to love, with catchy hooks, sing-along choruses, and a touch of theatre, of

course...

7. Which other bands at Decimate are you excited to see or play alongside, and

why?

Honestly, ALL of them!!

But we are very amped to be playing a fest with such a killer strong female presence!

From our Old pal Amanda in Famous Strangers, to new friends and co-founders

Sloan and Alyxus from Syren, volunteers, fellow musicians...too many to list! It’s

VERY empowering to see so many badass women involved, and we’re so proud to

be among them!
