How did you get started making music?

I've always been inclined to be somewhat involved in music. When i was young, very young that is, I had some sort of digital gallery where i broke down songs by their instruments and stuff. I was always interested in music. When I was i think 7 years old, my mother had tried me out for piano lessons, at that time i wasnt the most mechanically able, and being the stubborn sore loser i was, i ended up giving up that very quickly. Sadly me being a stubborn sore loser never stopped, there's been well over 30 songs I've written for AMFY that ended up never being finished because I thought it sounded dumb. Around 9-12 years old i started getting more physically into music, when i was 12-13, there was a guitar class at my school, and I didn't like guitar because i was a big baby and didn't like metal on my fingers, so i asked to play piano. And that is where my writing journey started, after that i started to pick up more instruments, guitar, drums, bass, singing, etc. And now I'm here 17, and writing full albums on my own.

What inspires your songwriting the most?

I'm not sure if theres something that inspires my songwriting the most, but most times whatever style I'm writing is heavily influenced by the kind of music I've been into. For AMFY, which is quite an experimental project for me, I'm influenced by bands like [minus], Deftones, Loathe, Deadly Medley, Addiction 96, Visceras Recital, and tons more. But mainly the first 3. The influence of [minus] is very obvious, the name for this project comes from their EP "A Message For You", but I gave it a weird cringey quirky twist.

How would you describe your sound in three words?

Nostalgic, emotional, alternative.

What message do you hope listeners take from your music?

I hope that people take the message of not being ashamed for who they are. Sometimes we react poorly in the moment of a certain feeling, like anxiety, but we shouldn't be ashamed, instead we should reflect learn from our mistakes, and make the effort to fix/change things. You're not alone, and not all problems are permanent. You only let what you think is permanent, be permanent. We're all strong enough to get through.

How had Canada helped shape your vibe?

The Canadian music scene has always been an influence to me for all my projects. When i first started posting my music, i was influenced by bands like Our Lady Peace. When I was writing for my project Face Scraper, i was influenced by Canadian bands like Tatara, Ethereal Tomb, Pre-Breaker, and hip-hop group Won-18, and rapper Plex. And now for AMFY, I'm influenced by Canadian bands like Viscera's Recital, Seymour, Solace.

What has been the biggest challenge in your journey so far?

My biggest challenge in my journey writing music has been writing with people. Since I started school, I've always been hesitant on working in groups, or just in general being in a group. I find being social very difficult. I like to work with either one other person, or I like to be alone, 9/10 i like working alone. But writing music is probably the hardest thing for me to do in groups.

What can fans expect from you next?

Expect heavier, thicker, louder, more emotional, more hardcore and more annoying music.
