INTERVIEW - LOVE LETTERS
INTERVIEW - LOVE LETTERS

What inspired the name Love Letters and what does it represent for the band?
We had a bad song a long time ago called Love Letter Writer, we like love and being in a group so we became the Love Letters.
How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard your music before?
Rock. Pop. Funk. Love. Rock. Loud. Fun. Rock.
What’s the story behind your latest release—how did it come together?
It took a few years to come together, it came from combining a recording from a jam with a demo from way back. Workshopped it as a band and it felt like it had a good single vibe so here we are!
Who are some of your biggest musical influences, individually or as a group?
Arctic Monkeys, RHCP, the Beatles, Cage the Elephant, Harry Styles
What does your songwriting process usually look like—collaborative, spontaneous, structured?
All of the above, often taking one person's idea then kicking it around as a group, jamming it, playing it at shows then listening back to sessions and adding on. Pretty simple!
Has your hometown or local music scene shaped your style or identity as a band?
Definitely. Everyone here is about being good friends to your band mates and collaborating and making as much music as possible. That's why we have a couple guys doing solo stuff and why we all remain very close friends. Bands are marriages after all.
What’s something fans might be surprised to learn about Love Letters?
We're nasty at The Office Trivia. Recently as a group (team Suite 401) we went 49/50 at Park Alleys Office Trivia. Took home the crown!
