INTERVIEW - THE UNCAS
INTERVIEW - THE UNCAS

What's the story behind your band name?
We started out playing the car farms of Uncas, near Edmonton, slowly venturing into the city to play the underground wedding circuit, which led to our ultimate demise.
How would you describe your sound?
Pschyo-cowgrass-alt-western-punk
What was the inspiration for your album Drop the Ball?
It’s a day in the life of an Uncas show circa 2006... starts off with a couple studio tunes, then a vocal warmup and into the debaucherous live show at the classic old Sidetrack Cafe.
What's your favorite song to perform live?
That changes quarterly... this quarter is all about ‘Hey Mama!’
How did you all meet and start making music together?
We met in the car farms of Uncas, outside of Edmonton, as fairly young lads... you could say music was our hopscotch. And Scotch was our favourite genre.
What do you hope people feel when they listen to your music?
We want them to let loose, get a bit zany and have a blast!
Are you working on any new music right now?
yes! Next year, we will be releasing our first new studio recordings in over 10 years - to celebrate our 25th anniversary as a band
