INTERVIEW - Duane Regretzky

1. What does it mean to you to be part of Punksgiving this year?
A chance to see my friends and catch up with them musically!
2. How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard
your music before?
Acoustic punk rock that splits the difference between heartfelt and the absurd.
3. What can fans expect from your set at Punksgiving that they won't
get anywhere else?
Twists, turns, surprises, free candy.
4. How has the Alberta punk scene influenced your music and your
journey as an artist?
Any chance to play shows with my Alberta friends is the very best. Canadian heritage moments abound.
5. What message or feeling do you hope people take away after watching
your performance?
Hope & inspiration to carry forward into their post-festival lives.
6. Are there any songs in your set that hold special meaning for you, and why?
I open with "Into the Red" every night. It's my tour anthem, check it out. It is the first track on my album "Mind Palace". I also have lots of NEW songs for ya.
7. Punksgiving is about more than music. How important is community
and supporting local scenes to your band?
Punk shows are more about the community and creating spaces for local people to connect, and less about "look at me on stage prancing about, look what I can do"! The music is secondary to the connection we feel together at the show.
