INTERVIEW - FABER DRIVE

INTERVIEW - FABER DRIVE

an altyeg music edmonton interview metal alberta punk

1. What inspired Faber Drive to reunite and start performing again?

A) It’s 100% the fans! We have seen and felt a dramatic resurgence for the band

building up and then blooming in 2025/2026. We are absolutely blown away with

how many people say “Tongue Tied”, When I’m With You” or “Second Chance”

was their high school anthem back in 2007 to 2012. Or how they grew up on our

music and how much they love it.

2. How do you think your sound has evolved since your early hit-making years?

A) Honestly we really feel that Faber Drive is for the most part our singer Dave

Fabers voice. When we released our first album and then went to release the

first single from our second album Get Up and Dance, we gained a ton of fans

but also lost a bunch of fans. Get Up and Dance was an extreme departure ,

sonically, from Seven Second Surgery. It is Dave’s voice that makes the sound of

Faber Drive. We love writing and recording classic pop punk songs and also

power ballads but we also love mixing it up with modern pop bangers like our

new single “The Beat Of My Heart Goes”. Our personal tastes range anywhere

from bands like Green Day and Blink 182 to Coldplay and Metallica, Stryper and

Elevation Worship to Zedd and Morgan Wallen. We love many styles and genres

of music and that reflects in our old songs and new.

3. Which Faber Drive song means the most to you today, and why?

A) That’s like asking a parent if they have a favourite child ha ha. In all honesty, we

love the songs that connect with our fans the most on both the recordings and

when playing the songs live. A few of our favourites to play live are “The Beat of

My Heart Goes”, “Second Chance”, “Tongue Tied”, “When I’m With You”,

“Sleepless Nights and You” and “I Tonight” amongst many more.

4. What has surprised you most about reconnecting with longtime fans?

A) We never thought this many fans would use “You and I Tonight” or “When I’m

With You” as their first dance for their weddings. We are extremely grateful and

do not take this second chance for granted woot woot!

5. How do you balance nostalgia with creating music that feels fresh and current?

A) That’s a challenge. At the end of the day we are always trying to do just that but

more importantly to us is that we are writing and creating music that we enjoy

ourselves as well as music that still keeps all of our fans happy.

6. Is there a particular moment in your career that stands out as a turning point?

A) Right now seems to be a massive highlight for us as the fans are showing up and

selling out our concerts like never before. We can’t believe how many new and old fans

are coming out to see us. THANK YOU!!!

7. What can fans expect from Faber Drive in the near future?

A)We’ve got tons of new music and collaborations coming in 2027 plus some

shenanigans on all of our socials and at our live shows ha ha! We’ve also got a

collaboration with our good friends LIVING ROOM FOR SMALL who just toured with us

and that will be coming out in the next few weeks. Cant wait to see you on the road! -

Nate, Seamus and Dave!
