1. Your new single “1’s & 0’s” has been gaining attention. What inspired the song?

This track almost didnt exist. We were at the tail end of a long, grueling weekend

at Skullcreek Studios when our producer, Aspen, told us to throw away the plan,

free jam, and see what happened. Our guitarist pulled out an old, forgotten riff,

and instantly, the room caught fire. Exhausted and dreading the Monday morning

grind, Corey and I were venting about feeling like cogs in a wheel. That

frustration clicked into a core question: “Am I human or machine?” Add in Josh’s

gnarly bass breakdown, a happy accident so wild we made him replay it just to

figure out what he’d actually done, and the song practically wrote itself. Born from

studio magic while facing the dread of heading back to our day jobs the next

morning, we channeled that robotic burnout straight into a dystopian anthem

about the rise of AI and the grind of modern life.

2. Peaks and Valleys covers a range of emotions. What was the biggest theme you

wanted listeners to take away from the EP?

Peaks and Valleys is an honest look at the emotional highs and lows we all experience.

Though the songs span a wide range of sounds, every track is deeply personal to its

songwriter. Our goal was simple: to create a genuine connection. If these songs made

you feel a little less alone in what you're going through, we did our job.

3. Drown In Sleep was one of the first songs you wrote as a band. How does it still

represent who Reclaim The Sun is today?

Drown In Sleep carries the raw, unpolished grit you’ve come to expect from us,

anthemic, dark, and high-energy. Even as our songwriting evolves and our sound

matures, that core identity remains unchanged. We’re imperfect, self-aware, and

always striving to grow.

4. How has the Bonnyville music scene influenced your sound?

Bonnyville is solid country territory, so local opportunities for our sound are pretty non-

existent. Instead, we’ve been building a community in surrounding hubs like Cold Lake,

Lloydminster, Edmonton, Saskatoon, drawing inspiration from the bands we meet along

the way and ones we grew up on.

5. Which song from your EP has received the strongest reaction from fans so far?

If we are going by most played it is Drown In Sleep. If we are going by fan

favorite I’ll have to say it’s Do Whatever You Want, that song has received some

nice praise from organizers and other bands who we have no connection to.

Always nice to receive a nod from others in the community from time to time. It

has that who cares vibe and fans dig that.

6. What have you learned about yourselves as musicians since releasing your

debut EP?

Collaboration drives our writing process. Every member brings a unique skill set

to the table, and exploring those dynamic strengths produces our best material.

We maintain an open creative environment where no idea is discarded, just

shelved until the right moment. We try to live by one golden rule: capture every

thought instantly, because once an idea slips away, it’s gone. Some great ideas

have been lost by not following this… As is tradition.

7. What’s the next chapter for Reclaim The Sun?

After bringing in a second guitar player, we have been finding new inspiration,

and working on a more dialed sound while writing music. We have some studio

time here in the very near future. The aim is to have another single ready for

early next year and keep tracking forward as we grow.
