How would you classify your music?
We like using alt-rock as an umbrella, but we have also used the
labels of grunge, prog, dream prog, and hard rock before.
Is there any inspiration for the band?
We are all late 90s early 2000s kids, so 90s rock/grunge/punk has been
a huge influence in our music. We had bands like Radiohead,
Audioslave, Weezer, Ozzy Osbourne, RATM, Blur, Foo Fighters, and Oasis
on our MP3 players.
Each of us have a similar taste in music that gives a good backbone
during writing, though we have our own comfort bands. Ariel pulls a
lot of inspiration from Sophie's Body, Sweet Pill, and Hail the Sun.
Andrew enjoys the Callous Daoboys, Car Bomb, and Sweet Pill. Kyle
listens to a lot of Judas Priest, Megadeth, Dream Theatre, and Protest
the Hero. Alex has been in QOTSA's top .001% of listeners on Spotify
for the past 5 years running, supplementing his listening with
Alexisonfire and The Arcs. Tony has a soft spot for British rock bands
such as Oasis, The Clash and The Beatles, as well as American artists
like The Velvet Underground, Weezer, and The Strokes.
What are your plans for 2025?
We will be visiting Edmonton on Aug 21st, Calgary on Aug 22nd, and
Regina on Aug 23rd for a mini tour (please see our Instagram page for
details). We are also booked for shows on September 26th and October
25th in Saskatoon. 2025 has been a busy year for us, and we intend on
taking some time off in November and December to write and take a
breather.
What would be your dream collaboration?
There are two SK bands we would love to play a show with - The
MoonRunners and Blind Commentary. An absolute dream would be to play
in the Desert Sessions.
What's your favorite anime?
A consistent answer across the band was the Death Note series and
anything Studio Ghibli. Other favorites are Akira, Attack on Titan,
and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
What advice would you give new artists?
Make music that you want to listen to. If you are only making art for
other people's enjoyment you are missing out on the fun.
