Who are the members of and what do they play?

Well typically it would be a five piece band but at the Halloween BlakBar show the lineup was a little different. We usually have Michael Giesbrecht on lead guitar, Victor Gutierrez on bass guitar, Jeff Folster on Keys and backup vocals, Aiden Russell on drums and myself Douglas Evans on rythm guitar and lead vocals.

For the BlakBar show it was Jon Andreas filling in on lead guitar, Jeff Folster on Keys and backup vocals, Aiden Russell on drums and myself Douglas Evans on rythm guitar and lead vocals.

How would you classify your music?

We have elements of a lot of music in our sound but first and foremost I’d say we are a comedy rock n roll band. We dabble around with country, folk, punk and even a little reggae. Being silly and trying to make people laugh and smile is always the priority.

What do you have out now

We have been around since 2014 and in that time we have released 1 EP, 1 live album and 1 very full 20 song album. The EP is called Doctor Booty Critters, the live album is called DBQ Live At The DBQ BBQ 2 and the full album is called Tales From The Booty Patch! These releases are on all major streaming platforms!

Is there any inspiration for the band?

My main inspiration would probably be Flight of the Conchords but I was also definitely inspired by music I love like Abba, Billy Joel Queen, Elton John and more. My music may not sound a lot like them but I absolutely love these artists and they inspired me to be a musician.

What are your plans for 2026?

well our plans for 2025 are almost over because the year is almost over! We went on tour in August and released our long awaited album Tales From The Booty Patch so that was awesome! If you mean 2026 then we don’t have anything currently planned but are always down to clown if people want us to perform with them. I do plan on working on my comedy hiphop persona “Jugless” in 2026 including releasing a single and a music video!

What would be your dream collaboration?

There are so many artists that I would love to collaborate with but it would be have to be Weird Al. That would be the dream come true. He is just so iconic but also Billy Joel would be incredible.

What's your favorite part of the Edmonton music scene, anything it needs?

My favourite part of the Edmonton music scene from the 4 different shows I have played in the city would have to be how kind and welcoming people were to us. I got a sense of comradery and community for every show we played in Edmonton. I surely don’t feel like I have the proper credentials to decide what the Edmonton music scene needs. As an outsider visiting I’d give it no notes. We had an absolute blast everytime in Edmonton.

What advice would you give new artists?

The only advice I feel I can give is: don’t do it if you don’t absolutely love it. There’s going to be bumpy moments and there’s no way everything is going to go smoothly everytime but if you truly enjoy performing music then you will never stop no matter what and that’s what it’s really all about in my opinion.
