PROFILE - REIGN OF ERROR

Who are the members of and what do they play?
Our current members are Caspian Shaw on vocals, Chance Brook on guitar, Braden "Shaky" Halliwell on bass, and Logan Lowerison on drums.
How would you classify your music?
We generally classify our music as alt rock, or alt metal.
Do you have any music out now?
We currently have two EPs out. Our most recent one is called "Dear Diary."
Is there any inspiration for the band?
We all individually have quite a wide range of influences. As a band, we mainly take inspiration from early 2000s alt rock and nu metal. Bands like System of a Down, Flyleaf, Linkin Park, etc.
What are your plans for 2026?
In 2026 we plan to release another project. We haven't totally decided yet if that will be another EP, or a full-length album, but we have already begun writing new music. We also hope to play some shows outside of Edmonton in 2026, and maybe get a small tour going.
What would be your dream collaboration?
Our dream collaboration is a tough choice. A couple that come to mind would be Pinkshift or Flyleaf.
What's your favorite part of the Edmontonmusic scene, anything it needs?
Our favourite part of the Edmonton music scene is the super friendly and diverse community. We have a really rich art scene here, and it's never hard to find a show going on in any genre. The one thing we think the community needs is more venues. We unfortunately have lost a lot of great venues in recent years (RIP Sewing Machine Factory, Bohemia, The Forge, and many others.)
What advice would you give new artists?
We have two pieces of advice for new artists. Regarding being in a band: make sure all of the band members are on the same page not just about the music, but about the band's goals and direction. If your goal is to build the band into a career, and some of your bandmates are only in it to have fun and jam, not only will you not accomplish your goal, it will eventually create tension in the band, and it will kill the fun as well.
Regarding the music community as a whole: support your local scene. Go to other bands shows, connect with as many people as possible, and be a part of the community. It may seem small, but other artists will notice and appreciate you supporting them and coming to shows.
Anything else you want the viewers to know?
We'd like the viewers to know that we have seen exponential growth in 2025, and we have no plan to stop any time soon, so come out to a show, and see what the buzz is about!
