Tonight I’m playing solo, but the current band lineup consists of Jenni Roberts on bass guitar and backup vocals, Jim Cuming on drums, and me (Cameron O’Neill) on guitar and lead vocals.
Classification:
One could call Velvet Hooks indie alternative rock
Inspirations:
A lot of the songwriting is rooted in alternative 90s rock, like Everclear or Matthew Good. The songs are largely about navigating relationships, and uncovering the roots of one’s trauma and the difficulties of unpacking those feelings.
Goals:
For 2023, it was to play a bunch of live shows and start recording some singles. Both have been accomplished! For 2024, the goal is to release those singles and record even more!
